Serendipity Experience 88: A Hint of Nostalgia

Glass Bottles and Old Books
I live in a contemporary home, which my friends jokingly call "The White House" as the colours and tones are almost entirely white. So when my parents and in laws decided to downsize their homes and pass on their collection of old books to me, I wondered what I would do with them as they didn't exactly fit our decor!

Yet the look and feel of an old book just fills my heart with delight, so it was not long before I found ways to line my stark white bookshelves with little touches of nostalgia, which bring part of my families history alive and into our everyday living.

I love my MacBook Air and have even succumbed to using a kindle, but nothing will replace a lovely old book in my heart or home.

I love the covers of old books, you have some real treasures here. My eldest, a bibliophile, is now custodian of her Grandparents' centenary edition collection of Dickens, making the books now over 100 years old. They have many older books too yet to find a home, but I hope my eldest will have her own home by then.....

What pretty blue bottles with the books in the first photo...and such lovely composition, too.

It's always a privilege to visit here and see a new post. :)

Oh Simone, I love your old books. Just think of the many hands that have so tenderly touched those pages. The books and bottles make for a wonderful combo. I'm sure that that pop of color amongst your white is lovely. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
