Serendipity Experience 48: Marvel at Marbles!

2:53 PM

I had always assumed that I knew exactly what the colour Indigo was! That was until in joining the Project64: Out of the Box challenge I had to actually find it!

After considerable searching and discarding of many various shades of blue, I finally decided it was best articulated in the colours of my son's marble collection! In true Serendipity spirit, I fortunately discovered that one of my glass bowls was also in fact Indigo in colour.

I had never before photographed marbles and hadn't appreciated how reflective they are. With so many reflective surfaces they are not the easiest thing to photograph. If you have never tried it, give it a go! Linking to sorted with style

  1. I was so excited at seeing your indigo contribution- another adult who loves marbles! Well, I still love the photo even though they're your sons marbles. :) Oh, well, I tell myself loving toys I never had when I was a kid keeps me young at heart.

  8. Oh good, it worked! I'd tried to make some comments before and they wouldn't publish. Now I can answer your reflection question. Yes, it was tricky photographing something marble-like, especially not getting a reflection of myself. Although, I was thinking you could use the reflection to get some pretty cool effects!
