Serendipity Experience 89 - Create Book Art Silhouettes

3:49 AM

Our Book Art Pages

We are a family of book lovers and always looking for new uses for old books, rather than throw out one of our "treasured but torn' books my daughter and I decided that we would create some book art.
So we scoured the internet for silhouettes that we liked and printed them directly onto the pages of our old book. They have such a lovely nostalgic feel about them. Now all we have to decide is how to display them.  We plan to either place them in matching frames as a set or hang them from little clips amongst a photo display.

New use for Old books

What I love about this idea is you can run with any theme you want, coastal, nature, literature or even children's book illustrations.

With the remaining pages we plan to make gift tag labels like these we found on pinterest. But that's a project for another day!

  4. They look beautiful. I've seen the picture of the tags before and I love the idea, but I'd want to use a punch rather than cut them all out by hand.

  6. Both of these uses are so beautiful. I don't think our resident bibliophile (my eldest) could bear to pull a book part to create art.

I relative uses old books to create wonderful 3D art then frames it. She also has used old pages as wallpaper as a base for further art work.

  9. What a great idea. I have a couple of old books I use in my art. I just love the look of the yellowed pages. I never thought of running them through the printer. They really do look great.

I do hope you enjoyed your weekend.
